To whom it may concern,

Let me introduce myself. My name is Kadir Cordoba 200 GT Yachtmaster , and I am currently delivering a Catamaran from West indies to Panamà after finished my season in Tanzania,

I am fully bilingual in Spanish and English. I also have a basic knowledge of Portuguese and Italian. I have experience in many different roles over the last few years working on M/Y and S/Y. I have more than +35,000 nautical miles at sea, including roles such as commercial, deliveries, private boat charters, certified Yacht Master 200 GT, mate, deckhand/cook, oiler, and shore base jobs.

I have enjoyed sailing the Mediterranean , Zanzibar (boat project manager), South Pacific via Galapagos (delivery boat), and also local sailing in French Polynesia, both recreational and professional. I have worked as a charter captain as well. I also sailed several charters from San Blas to Cartagena de Indias (Captain Cook), Panamá to Costa Rica (Captain), Bocas del Toro, Panamá (charter captain), and Acapulco, La Cruz to Cozumel, Q.Roo via the Panamá Canal (Captain), as well as several deliveries around the eastern Caribbean islands and multiple Panama Canal transits.

As a qualified and experienced seaman, I have the capacity to solve problems if necessary, right away, without interfering with the protocols and regular operations. Planning passages, knowledge of navigational devices, and a high awareness of security onboard will ensure that I am a solid candidate.

I have experience in preventative maintenance on diesel engines, rigging, outboard (2-stroke) engines, and basic electrical systems, as well as coating, fiberglass, and carpentry. I exhibit strong skills in mooring, docking, and the management of boats.

Scuba diving and freediving are some activities I enjoy in my spare time. I also like spending time speaking with people and learning new skills. Additionally, I enjoy dinner parties, where I can cook and introduce people to new tastes.

I am a seasoned captain who can also fit in perfectly well with anything needed to sail us in harmony. I am a team player and an asset to any crew. I like variety and challenging positions. I am always trying to improve my skills and those of the crew members around me. I’m a team player but am also capable of working independently. My desire is to work onboard any vessel that has recreational options, such as various water sports and activities, which are always of great interest to me.

Medical fitness standards certificate for seafarers 2024
A Medical Fitness Certificate for Seafarers is a document confirming a seafarer's ability to perform their duties safely and effectively, as required by international regulations. It's a mandatory requirement for most seafarers employed on commercial ships and those pursuing new or upgraded Certificates of Competency for fishing vessels. The certificate is issued after a medical examination by an approved doctor, ensuring the seafarer meets specific standards for eyesight and hearing, and for overall health fitness. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Purpose: The certificate verifies that a seafarer is medically fit to perform their duties, minimizing risks to themselves, other crew members, and passengers. Requirements: Seafarers must undergo a medical examination to assess their physical and mental health, including tests for vision, hearing, and any potential health conditions that could affect their ability to work safely at sea. Validity: The certificate's validity period varies depending on the individual's age and the specific regulations of the flag state, but generally, it's valid for two years, with some exceptions for younger or older seafarers. Categories of Fitness: Medical fitness certificates can indicate various levels of fitness, including: Fit without restrictions: The seafarer can perform all duties without any limitations. Fit with restrictions: The seafarer is fit for some, but not all, duties, with specific limitations outlined on the certificate. Temporarily unfit: The seafarer is temporarily unable to work at sea, and the certificate will specify when they may be re-examined. Permanently unfit: The seafarer is permanently unable to work at sea. Importance: The certificate is crucial for obtaining and maintaining a Certificate of Competency and for working on board a ship. It demonstrates that a seafarer meets the minimum standards required for safety and efficiency at sea.
